Our Continuity and SaaS Protection help support deliver these services to you providing the ability to restore data quickly, in the way you need, for the length of time that you need to do it.
Data Retention
Under the GDPR, it is important for you to determine how long you would like to retain your data. We provide a number of options that can be used to tailor data retention schedules. Continuity enables the local device data retention to be set. Continuity data retention in the Datto Cloud can be configured when selecting Infinite Cloud Retention (ICR) or Capacity Based Retention, 1-Year Time Based Retention (TBR) is limited to one year of data retention. SaaS Protection enables you to store data in the Backup Data Centre for the length of time that you specify.
Data Storage
Under the GDPR, it is important to know where your data is stored. Continuity is a hybrid cloud solution designed to store backups of protected machines; one backup copy is stored locally where you have your servers and another backup copy is stored in the Backup Data Centre. SaaS Protection is a cloud to cloud solution, designed to store a copy of SaaS application data in the Backup Data Centre. Our products offer cloud storage in different geographic locations, including in Europe. Continuity and SaaS Protection offer you the option to choose where you would like to store cloud data at the time of initial setup. The location can be changed later based on your needs.
Data Encryption
Data backed up from cloud locations like Microsoft 365 and G Suite for SaaS Protection instances and Continuity device data is encrypted in transit to the Backup Data Centre. We also offer local data encryption as an option for added security on top of what we already securely transmit and stores in the Backup Data Centre. Local encryption ensures that your data is encrypted at rest on the local appliance and in the Backup Data Centre.
